About Me
Hi, I’m Reagan Fountain! I’ve been vegan for over 11 years and I’m a University of Florida grad with a degree in Public Relations. I now use that background as a Key West–based content creator and social media manager, running my company, Reimagined by Reagan Riley.
I’ve been deeply connected with nature and animals since I was a little girl (or mermaid/monkey-in-training). Growing up on the island of Key West, I spent my days catching snakes and iguanas, swinging through trees, snorkeling with sharks, and starting wild colonies of Madagascar Day Geckos. So when I ran up to my parents my freshman year of high school and proclaimed “I’m going vegan!” — it didn’t come as much of a surprise.
How I learned to Cook
Cooking and recipe creation come naturally to me now, but it wasn’t always that way. Growing up three hours from the mainland on an island famous for seafood has its perks — but plant-based food options wasn’t one of them.
I was also the lone vegan among my four family members and out of 1,000 kids at my high school, which earned me the nickname “Reagan the Vegan” (even though it doesn’t rhyme if you pronounce my name correctly).
What I didn’t realize at the time was that those challenges created the perfect circumstances for me to develop and experiment with plant-based cooking. Being the only vegan in the household, I was forced to depend on myself if I wanted to eat what I actually wanted to eat. With some culinary guidance from my mom and a desire to live in alignment with my values, I quickly mastered the art of cooking plants — saving the animals exclusively for petting and playing.
